The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc. Awards Meeting and Luncheon was held on October 21, 2009
at the Aqua Turf Club, Plantsville, Connecticut. The following are
the award descriptions as printed in Awards 2009 booklet.
Landscape Design Council
Award for Excellence in Design
The front lawn of the Carol and Gary Dornbush residence in
Simsbury has mixed borders of evergreen and deciduous shrubs with perennials and grasses designed around existing mature oaks. The
elaborate back gardens are designed to serve three generations, with entertaining space, a cottage garden, a water feature, divided into
a series of small spaces.
